Youth Island -Show Jumping Sensation has a brilliant future in sport after the latest success

A teenage show jumper from the Isle of Wight achieved top results at the senior British Show Jumping competition.

Rubi Harper from Shanklin took part in the recent event at the Dorset Showground and made Wellen with her outstanding achievements.

The 15-year-old and the youngest competitor of the show took part in 12 classes over the weekend championship.

She achieved a place in the top six at eight events to prove her extraordinary skills, consistency and promise.

(Image: Gemma Harper) Rubi secured her last two double clears on her horse Maverick.

The couple officially qualifies this service for the second round at the event next year.

She also provided impressive performance in the amateur qualifications and secured fourth place in the 95 cm class and in the 105 cm class with her new horse Katrin Wan.

Rubis successes brought her a place in the second rounds in the events this month.

Her services also give her the opportunity to qualify for the national final in Aintree in November.

Surprisingly, Rubi started driving Katrin Wan a week before the competition.

With Katrin, she got the win in the 1m open, which led in her first class for two seconds.

Rubi followed with another victory in the 1M scale qualification game on Maverick and a ninth place on Katrin.

Her success lasted with a top ten finish on Katrin in the 1.05 -m class and a win in the 1m discovering class with Maverick.

Rubi also made a brave debut in her first Foxhunter class, one of the most technical and demanding categories in national show jumping that Maverick drives to victory.

Rubis achievements are even more impressive in view of their recent relaxation.

Rubi’s success at the weekend underlines her talent and her growing presence in the older ranks of British show jumping.

Her nan had horses and she immediately took her to riding her with the lessons at Trottern in Ryde, then to the Lake Farm, a riding rink in Rookley, which is operated by the well-known riding character Sarah Holmes.

Rubi dreams of developing into an international show jumper with hope to take part in the Olympic Games one day.

Rubi, one of Red Funnel’s talented athletes, is currently after additional sponsorship to improve her career.
